WELCOME

Looking forward to a unique event.

Shinkyokushin karate is not only a great ‘sport’, it is much more. This style of karate forms people, mentally and physically. The European Championship, in 2017 hosted in Roskilde, is the biggest event every year, with the very best fighters from 32 countries present.

At the tournament, spectators will see incredible power, techniques, stamina and spirit. All inseparably connected with respect, discipline and good sportsmanship. As president of the European Karate Organization EKO and vice president of the World Karate Organization WKO, with 93 member countries, on behalf of both organizations I can say that we are proud that the Danish Karate Union - Shinkyokushin/Kyokushin is organizing the event in Denmark. Especially because the European Championship marks the 50 years of Dansk karate Union.

Danish karate-ka have a very good reputation in Europe and worldwide, and so have their organizational skills. We are looking forward to the Championship, with the guarantee that it will leave behind an unforgettable impression.
